# Power supply and battery

The TX T\&H E-INK AMB offers two power supply modes:

* Mode **Battery** : Use the supplied battery for optimal battery life. To activate the sensor, simply remove the insulating tab.
* Mode **USB-C** : For continuous power, connect a USB-C cable (**5V** / **0.5A**).

In mode **USB-C**, the **battery** must absolutely be **removed**. This mode makes it possible to completely do away with maintenance operations related to battery replacement.

#### Battery

The TX T\&H E-INK AMB is powered on by removing the protective tab from the built-in battery.

#### USB-C

Connect a USB-C cable. You can route the cable by breaking off the end of the tab on the rear tray.

## Battery replacement

To replace the battery of the TX T\&H E-INK AMB, you must first remove the sensor from its holder and clear access to the battery.

The TX T\&H E-INK AMB uses a 3.6 V C-type lithium battery.

If your sensor was still operating when you removed the battery, it may continue to operate thanks to the energy reserve stored in its supercap. You can force the supercap to discharge by [consulting this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRLy9dJJaSQ).
