# Configuration

TX MODBUS: configuration

The MODBUS TX allows reading and writing 60 Modbus registers. These registers can be distributed across up to 10 Modbus slaves. This section presents the recommended order for configuring, activating, and checking your MODBUS TX.

## Radio architecture

The diagram below shows the radio link between the MODBUS TX and the MODBUS RX.&#x20;

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://1715332350-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3HoPKoOlgG9Qj4E6fu0w%2Fuploads%2F2pEcu4gqdpXSpd0Hqd0w%2FProduct%20architectures%20-%20TX%20MODBUS.png?alt=media&amp;token=533853e8-5c3b-47a7-9648-ea38270ecae5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

The MODBUS TX configuration is done from the MODBUS RX configuration server.

Checks can then be carried out from the MODBUS TX server.

{% hint style="info" %}
The MODBUS TX communicates with an Enless Easy LoRa receiver (proprietary mode).

Use this section to prepare the configuration, validate activation, and check the exchanged data.

## Configure a MODBUS TX

## Before you begin

Prepare the following information:

* The LoRa ID of the MODBUS TX (visible on the product label)
* The Modbus parameters of each slave: ID, baud rate, parity, data bits, and stop bits
* The addresses of the registers to read or write

Also keep in mind the product limits:

* 10 Modbus slaves maximum
* 60 Modbus registers maximum

## Recommended procedure

Follow these steps in this order:

1. [Configuration](/centre-aide/guides-installation/documentation-en/sensors/editor-21/configuration/configuration.md)\
   Declare the MODBUS TX and enter the slave parameters.
2. [Activation and Modbus data](/centre-aide/guides-installation/documentation-en/sensors/editor-21/configuration/activation-and-modbus-data.md)\
   Validate activation and display the Modbus table.
3. [Checks](/centre-aide/guides-installation/documentation-en/sensors/editor-21/configuration/checks.md)\
   Check the configuration and the data read on the MODBUS TX side.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://enless.gitbook.io/centre-aide/guides-installation/documentation-en/sensors/editor-21/configuration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
